| BUCKEYE CRUISE FOR CANCER II, IS SET FOR NEXT FEBRUARY 12-16, 2009. IF YOU IT IN FEBRUARY, DEFINITELY PLAN FOR THE SECOND EVENT NEXT FEBRUARY. THE CRUISE LEAVES FROM TAMPA AND HEADS TO KEY WEST AND COZUMEL. ROOMS ARE SELLING OUT FAST, BASED ON THE TERRIFIC TIME EVERYONE HAD THIS YEAR. CHECK OUT THE "EVENTS" PAGE FOR DETAILS. The 14th Annual Scholarship Golf Tournament is just around the corner on June 8th
at the Woodlands Country Club. We NEED VOLUNTEERS to help! Contact either Event
Chairman Dan Margolis at buckeyedan@coralspringsmoving.com or co-chair Mark
Simmons at MarkMSimmonsii@yahoo.com, or Jack Korthals at BUK_I_PHI@bellsouth.net.
If you can donate a prize, sponsor a hole, put together a foursome, or whatever, your
help is needed and will be appreciated. This is a major fund raising event for our
Scholarship Fund. If you have a local business or are simply a Buckeye fan, consider
putting in $100 to sponsor a hole. We play a scramble in which four team members hit,
and then go to the best shot, and everyone hits again. If you do not have a team, we'll
put you on one. If you are a poor golfer or do not play at all, so what! The event is for
fun and funding for scholarships. Come on out and join us at the Woodlands. This is a
new course for us and head grounds keeper and Buckeye Jimmy Greer promises that we
will love the course. I just hope he loves us afterwards.
Make it a point to mark down June 8th, and join us for a great day on the links.
We are only a month away from the tournament and reservations are coming in.
This is a great opportunity to play on an excellent private course and benefit the
scholarship fund at the same time. Dan Margolis is working with Pete Swanson again
this year and we are looking forward to some special trophies and raffle prizes.
Have you been following the Buckeyes? OSU men made the Final Four in Volleyball.
They lost in the semis to the eventual winner and number one seed, Penn State. The
wrestling team placed second in the NCAA tournament.
The Bru's Room Golf Tournament is on May 31st at Palm Aire. Check out Bob's
website www.BrusRoom.com. May 10th is the Rotary Club tournament at Palm Aire.
