MY RANT:*** by Jack
Bad news for the folks who have come to love Bru's Room in Margate: The bar was
closed for good at closing time after the Super Bowl on February 1st. Bru's has been the
home for our Club for almost 20 years. But the economics of the times simply did not allow
for continuing the old homestead. Bru's opened a new restaurant a couple of miles away in
Coconut Creek and are about to open another in Coral Springs on University Drive, a block
north of Atlantic Blvd. We will be speaking with Bob about relocating our game watching
gatherings and will post the new location shortly. For now, we owe a big thanks to Bob and
Eddie, managers Linda and Zo, and all of the staff who have catered to us for every game.
We'll miss the old place and all of the smiling faces that greeted us. Good luck to all and
we hope to see you in new digs this fall!
THE NEW WEBSITE: BrowardBuckeyes.ning.com
About three years ago, we put together this website with little experience and no
expertise. A new member of the Club, Michael Braun, has introduced us to new technology
and an interactive site called "NING." He has set up a basic site for the Club that lets each
of you be a part of the process. By joining you can create your own groups within the Club,
make comments on info posted on the site, communicate with each other, and just give us
your thoughts. Obviously, there are limits to the amount of free thinking if it has nothing to
do with the Buckeyes or Ohio State. Personal attacks and bad language will not be
permitted. We will be linking to other Buckeye sites. You can link to Facebook.
The idea is an extension of this current site to open the door to more participation by more
people. At some point we may even run ads for your businesses on the site.
You will probably hear from Mike shortly as he tries to bring as many members on line as
possible. If you do not hear from him, just LOGON TO THE SITE USING THE LINK ABOVE
AND SIGN IN!
