| BUCKEYE CRUISE FOR CANCER II, IS SET FOR NEXT FEBRUARY 12-16, 2009. IF YOU MISSED IT IN FEBRUARY, DEFINITELY PLAN FOR THE SECOND EVENT NEXT FEBRUARY. THE CRUISE LEAVES FROM TAMPA AND HEADS TO KEY WEST AND COZUMEL. ROOMS ARE SELLING OUT FAST. CHECK OUT THE "EVENTS" PAGE FOR DETAILS. MY RANT:*** by Jack
This is MICHIGAN WEEK!! Despite the 3-8 record, this game should again be close and
hard fought. Those with any memory at all will recall past games where one team had a
great record only to be beaten by the other team, which was going no where. Nowhere is
exactly where Michigan has floundered all year. Their eight losses are more than any
Michigan team in history. This Saturday will be their "Bowl Game," since the string of 33 in
a row has now ended. A win this week would destroy any hope the Bucks have for a BCS
game in a major bowl and give the Wolverines something to crow about all winter.
Forget about the stats and Michigan's losses to the likes of Toledo, Purdue and Illinois.
Forget about 5 losses at home in the Big House. Remember that the six previous Michigan
coaches beat the Bucks in their first year. Remember also that despite the win last week
in the cornfields of Illinois, we gave up 455 yards of total offense. Remember that Tressel
goes into a turtle shell in big games (see: Penn State), and seems afraid to make big plays
out of fear of mistakes.
The Buckeyes have the firepower to shred the Wolverines, if they are permitted to do
so. (See: Michigan State and Northwestern). It can not fall to Chris Wells left, Chris Wells
right. All of those receivers who have been biding their time all year need to get into the
mix. Terrelle Pryor will be the key, again. He proved he can play in awful weather last
week. It is time for him to blossom into the QB that can continue the string of victories
against the Wolverines.
The defense that gave up the 455 yards last week must be much better. Although
Michigan has seemed terrible at most times, they have had moments of good play. If they
string those moments into one game without mistakes, this will be difficult game.
This is always a fun week at Bru's Room. The Tailgate Party starts at 9 am. Please
bring an unwrapped toy for the Toys For Tots program. This is another opportunity for the
Club to reach out and help the community. Go Bucks! Beat Michigan!
